For two unforgettable days, we’ll be chasing prehistoric river giants on the Columbia River with one of the most respected sturgeon guides in Oregon! This trip blends adventure, connection, and comfort in classic Her Wilderness fashion: world-class fishing by day, gorgeous cozy lodging by night, and a group of women who will quickly feel like lifelong friends.

White sturgeon aren’t just fish, they’re living fossils. These massive river monsters can grow over 10 feet long and weigh up to 1,000 pounds, offering one of the most adrenaline filled fights you will ever experience. Powerful runs, heavy head shakes, and acrobatic surface jumps are just part of what makes sturgeon fishing unlike anything else. We will be guided by a dedicated angler who shows up in the way he leads every trip: focused, patient, safety-first, and deeply committed to giving every angler (including beginners) their moment with a true Columbia River giant. Every fish is catch and release, protecting sturgeon populations and honoring the legacy of this majestic species. Our home for the weekend is a newer modern townhome right on the Columbia River, located inside a quiet industrial park with jaw-dropping views and direct access to the paved walking trail along the water. Inside you’ll find:

• 3 bedrooms

• 2.5 bathrooms

• Open-concept living + dining spaces

• Two private decks overlooking the river

Just four minutes away you’ll find local restaurants, live music, wineries, museums, and the endless beauty of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. If you decide to extend your stay for windsurfing or water sports, you’re perfectly positioned between world-renowned Hood River to the west and iconic Rufus to the east. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and adventure a scenic home away from home.

Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. During the virtual meetings, hosted on Google Meet, you’ll discuss important details such as packing lists, travel plans, and more. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly. Day one kicks off with everyone arriving to the Airbnb (time TBD), where we'll take time to unpack, unwind and get settled in. After choosing rooms and unpacking, we will gather for introductions and a quick overview of the weekend ahead. Later in the evening, we will gather for a welcome dinner out on the town and share a toast for the adventures ahead. After dinner, we will return to the Airbnb, prepare for a long day ahead of us.

Day 2 starts bright and early with a 7 AM departure from the boat launch. We will have a full day on the river chasing white sturgeon, soaking up viewed, snapping photos, and making unforgettable memories. Be ready for a mix of excitement, relaxation, and maybe a splash or two - don't forget your waterproofs and your best river-ready outfit!

After a day on the river, we will return to our Airbnb to freshen up, relax and swap stories. We will head out to a local restaurant for a well deserved dinner, return to the Airbnb and prepare for another day on the river.

Day 3 begins with another early morning as we head out on our final day of fishing. With lines in the water and coffee in hand, we'll soak up every last moment on the boat, hoping for more epic catches to end the trip strong. After a fun-filled day, we'll return to the boat launch and say our goodbyes.
