About your trip

We are heading to the world renowned walleye fishery, Lake Erie! Join us this spring as we embark on this bucket list great lake. We will be in great hands with professional guides who navigate these large waters every day! Once participating in the tournament circuit, they'll now be sharing their hands-on tactics for us to bring these BIG walleyes into the boat.

This trip will be 2 full days of guided fishing, with all fishing equipment provided. Our daily bag limit is 6 walleyes per person, making our possession limit 12 fish at the end of our trip. Our guides will graciously clean and package our fish for us after each outing. With spring fishing, it’s no secret that weather can be a major element in our trip. Your Coordinator will provide a detailed packing list after you register. A few of those required items will be your rain gear, winter bibs, jacket, and boots! Please be prepared for that. It is always best to be over prepared when it comes to fishing on large bodies of water like Lake Erie.

Lodging is also included in the price of this trip. We will be staying in an Airbnb outside of Port Clinton, Ohio close to downtown life! Once we settle in on our first day, we will do a grocery run to plan our breakfasts, lunches out in the boats, and dinners. We can also decide to grab dinner at one of the many local restaurants in town.

TARGET SPECIES + REGULATIONS

Walleyes will be our target on this trip! Every year walleye enthusiasts flock to Lake Erie in awe of the abundance of big healthy fish. Spring can provide one of the most active bites as the walleyes finish spawning, they are now on the prowl and ready to EAT! You will need a 2 day fishing license that can be purchased on the Ohio DNR website. If you are a resident of Ohio, a 1 day license is $14.00, or you can purchase your yearly license for $25. If you are a non resident, you can also purchase a 1 day license for $14.00, or a 3 day non resident for $25.

Our guides will also be cleaning and bagging our catches for us at the end of each day. The daily possession limit for these walleyes is 6 per person, making that 12 fish you’ll be going home at the end of our 2 days of fishing. You will need to bring a cooler with you to keep your fish cold on your journey back home. If you happen to catch a fish of a lifetime that you would like to mount, your coordinator and guides can recommend a taxidermist for you if you do not already have a preferred one.

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!
