This isn’t your average fishing trip, this is the full Alaska experience. Join Her Wilderness for a 7-day women’s-only adventure designed for connection, challenge, and pure awe. From the glacier views to the salmon-filled waters of the Kenai River and the halibut-rich coastlines of Homer, this trip is a journey through some of Alaska’s most iconic landscapes.

From the glacier-fed waters of the Kenai River to the halibut-filled coastlines of Homer, this week brings together world-class fishing, iconic landscapes, and cozy cabin moments. Along the way, you’ll road trip along one of the most scenic highways in North America, spot wildlife, and explore the small towns that make Alaska so special. This trip doesn’t include a floatplane excursion, making it more affordable, but it includes riding the tram to the top of a mountain and spending time walking through the Wildlife Conservation Center to see animals up close.

Friday, July 24 – Arrival in Anchorage + Road Trip to Soldotna (Stops Along the Way)
After breakfast, we hit the road toward Soldotna with some unforgettable stops. Ride the Alyeska tram in Girdwood, walk through the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and soak in glacier views before arriving at our cozy lodging in Soldotna. The tram and conservation center ticket are included.

Saturday, July 25 – Lake Clark National Park Float Plane Tour - This bucket-list day begins with a 30-minute scenic float plane ride across Cook Inlet into the heart of Lake Clark National Park, landing on the breathtaking Crescent Lake. Once there, you'll board a boat with your guide and spend the day fishing for sockeye salmon while watching wild bears fish right alongside you, sometimes just 30 feet away! Expect unforgettable wildlife encounters with brown and black bears, eagles, otters, and more. Weather permitting, your return flight will include a glacier flyover for a spectacular finale to the day. This is a full-day Alaskan adventure you’ll never forget.

Sunday, July 26 – Kenai River Salmon Fishing
Today we fish the legendary Kenai River during peak sockeye season. You’ll split into two boats for a full-day guided trip, reeling in bright red sockeye against a stunning glacier-fed backdrop. All gear provided, no experience needed!

Monday, July 27 – Travel to Homer
We continue south to Homer, known as Alaska’s Halibut Capital, taking in stunning scenery, charming coastal towns, and optional photo stops along the way. Once we arrive, you’ll have time to settle in, explore the iconic Homer Spit, and enjoy a delicious local dinner.

Our lodging for the remainder of the trip is sure to be a favorite, we’ll be staying at a newly renovated resort perched on “the cliff”, offering jaw-dropping mountain views in every direction. This private, 5-acre retreat features hobbit-style yurts and cabins, cozy firepits, and a hot tub perfect for winding down after a day of adventure. It’s the kind of place you’ll never want to leave.

Tuesday, July 28 – Free Day in Homer
This is your day to explore Homer at your own pace. Choose from beach walks, brewery stops, kayaking, shopping, or simply relaxing. We’ll help coordinate any add-on excursions ahead of time based on group interest.

Wednesday, July 29 – Halibut Fishing Charter
Head out on a full-day halibut charter on Kachemak Bay. These cold waters are famous for big catches and unforgettable fishing experiences. We’ll return in the evening to process your fish and soak up our last full day together.

Thursday, July 30 – Departure Day
We’ll head back to Anchorage for flights home. Please book return flights no earlier than 8:00 PM to allow for drive time. If schedules allow, we’ll share one last breakfast or coffee stop before parting ways.

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

TRIP EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

At Her Wilderness, our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering outdoor experience for every woman who joins us. That said, outdoor adventures come with a level of unpredictability, especially when weather, wildlife, and group dynamics are involved. We ask all participants to bring a flexible mindset and a positive attitude. Weather conditions, guide recommendations, and other factors may require last-minute changes to activities, schedules, or game pursued (for example, switching from a duck hunt to a goose hunt if conditions call for it). These decisions are made with your safety and the quality of the experience in mind. If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.

What You Can Expect:

  • Outdoor conditions may change plans—including hunts, hikes, or water access.

  • You may share lodging with others.

  • Some locations may have limited facilities.

  • There is no guarantee of harvesting a specific species.

  • We do everything we can to deliver a great experience—no matter the challenge.

What We Expect:

  • A respectful, go-with-the-flow attitude.

  • Willingness to adapt to changes in schedule or activity.

  • Zero tolerance for drama, negativity, or behavior that impacts the group.

We maintain a strict no-drama policy. Any participant who brings negativity, disrupts the group dynamic, or disrespects staff or others will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be invited back to future events. We are here to build community, confidence, and lasting memories in the outdoors. Thank you for being part of that mission and for helping us keep our trips positive, welcoming, and fun for all!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!
